West Virginia Lands Home State Four-Star Offensive Lineman in Transfer Portal

NCAA Football: Oklahoma State at West Virginia

The West Virginia Mountaineers are welcoming in a four-star offensive lineman via the transfer portal, and for in-state high school football fans, it is a name some will remember.

Virginia Tech offensive lineman Doug Nester announced early on Saturday, December 26th, that he would be transferring back to his home state and joining the West Virginia Mountaineers.

Nester was a former four-star prospect coming out of high school. He started in 16 games in his two seasons in Blacksburg and played at least 500 snaps. Pro Football Focused named him an All-Freshman Honorable Mention in 2019.

Nester is eligible to play in 2021 after the NCAA approved a one-time transfer rule that allows players to become immediately eligible, waiving the one-year waiting requirement that many players have had to use in the past.

On the field, West Virginia will take on the Army Black Knights in the Liberty Bowl next week.
