Watch: Umpire Curses at UCF Baseball Player After Terrible Call

While it’s technically up for interpretation as to what may have been said, the home plate umpire from Friday’s baseball game between the Wichita State Shockers and UCF Knights game is trending on social media following a unique exchange with UCF batter Andrew Brait.

With Brait up to bat and down in the count, strike three was called on a pitch that was significantly out of the strike zone. After some tasteful feedback from Brait, the home plate umpire removed his facemask, and was shown in slow motion mouthing what looked like some colorful conversation.

UCF was playing a double-header on Friday in a pair of wild games that saw a combined 50 runs scored. UCF won the first game 16-15 and lost the nightcap 12-7. UCF wrapped up the series with a 5-4 win on Saturday. The AAC Conference Tournament begins on Tuesday this week from Clearwater, Florida.

While it’s not a rare occurrence that an official has words with a batter after a dicey call, the slow-motion replay didn’t do the head umpire any favors. While UCF’s Andrew Brait might not have appreciated it at the moment, baseball fans everywhere get to enjoy seeing the interaction up close.
