Big 12 Well Represented in 2023 Reese’s Senior Bowl
With the 2023 NFL Draft approaching, there still is plenty of action left for some players to rise up those draft boards. This past weekend there was a bowl game and this upcoming week there are two more games. The East/West Shrine Bowl is on Thursday and there is one more after that with the Senior Bowl.
Today I wanted to focus on the Reese’s Senior Bowl which will be played on Saturday, February 4th at 1:30 p.m. central time in Mobile, Alabama. The game will be featured on NFL Network and will have Andrew Siciliano, Daniel Jeremiah, Charles Davis, and Tom Pelissero on the call.
While there are other games for NFL hopefuls, the Reese’s Senior Bowl seems to be the most prominent game. What makes this game unique is that the teams are coached by current NFL coaches, but not by a head coach.
This year the two head coaches will be from the Chicago Bears and the Las Vegas Raiders. Chicago Bears offensive coordinator Luke Getsy will coach the American Team while Las Vegas defensive coordinator Patrick Graham will coach the National Team. This is also the first year where two full staffs from NFL teams will not be coaching the game. Each staff has coaches from different NFL teams.
Here are all the Big 12 players who will play in the bowl game on Saturday. From the looks of things, it is pretty clear that the Big 12 is well represented, although a bit unbalanced, considering that the National team has just four Big 12 players while the American has 12.
