Gus Malzahn and the UCF Knights added a new name to the Class of 2025 on Saturday with the addition of three-star defensive lineman Christian Hudson.

Hudson, a 6-foot-1, 280-pound defensive lineman from Florida, chose the hometown Knights over offers from Iowa, Iowa State, and Maryland.

Coming out of Mainland High School in the Class of 2025, Hudson is listed as a three-star prospect by the 247Sports index and the nation’s 484th-ranked player. He also checks in as the 39th-ranked player at his position and the 44th-ranked player in the state of Florida.

“It’s been nothing but straight love from the coaching staff,” Hudson told TTJH Sports. “I feel like me and Coach Martin have a very strong connection and relationship. Also my relationship with Coach Malzahn is very strong as well. I love the environment and the way they are going to grow and win the Big 12.”

With his commitment, Hudson became the Knights’ 17th addition to the Class of 2025, joining a class headlined by four-star safety Kendarius Reddick, four-star running back Taevion Swint, and four-star wide receiver Waden Charles.

Hudson will see his future team take the field for the first time in 2024 on Thursday, August 29th, against New Hampshire.
