We are entering the height of the college football preseason as Media Days are either finished or in full swing for most conferences, and fall camp is just a matter of weeks away.

Teams from across the nation feel good about their prospects heading into a new year, and with a 12-team College Football Playoff format this season, there will be plenty of excitement for several programs that will get their first shot at playing for a national title since the playoff format was introduced.

What that 12-team field will look like is anyone’s guess, but when trying to deduce who might make the cut, it’s always a good idea to check out some of the preview magazines to see what the experts think.

One of the best ones out there is Pick Six Previews, and on Wednesday, they unveiled their preseason Top 25 poll.

Four Big 12 teams made the cut, the highest of which was Utah, who checks in at No. 8 on the list. Kyle Whittingham and Cam Rising give the Utes the most tenured head coach and quarterback duo in the nation and expectations are a mile high in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Kansas State is the next Big 12 program to make the cut, checking in at No. 17 after a nine-win campaign in 2023. Oklahoma State is four spots behind them at No. 21 after going 10-4 a season ago and returns virtually everyone from that team.

UCF is the No. 25 team on the list and brings some big expectations after one of the best portal hauls in the country. The Knights round out the four Big 12 teams who made the Top 25, but not by much.

The Big 12 litters Pick Six Preview’s Top 40, with three more teams appearing in the Top 30. Arizona just missed the cut, coming in at No. 26, followed by Iowa State who checks in at No. 27 on the list. TCU comes in two spots back at No. 29, while Kansas checks in at No. 32.

West Virginia is the final Big 12 team to crack the list, checking in as the No. 34 team in the country.
