College football fans woke up to a beautiful reality on Monday morning as teams across the nation are kicking off fall camp today.

The start of the 2024 season is now less than four weeks away, and with that, teams are cleared to begin preparations for what’s to come.

One of the first teams to get the ball rolling was the UCF Knights, who hit the practice field early this morning to get fall camp underway.

Here’s a look at Gus Malzahn breaking the first huddle of fall camp. Malzahn is headed into his fourth season at UCF with a 24-16 record through his first three years, including back-to-back nine-win campaigns in 2021-22.

As UCF gets things kicked off this morning, the excitement around the program couldn’t get much higher. After a disappointing 6-7 campaign a season ago, the Knights hit the transfer portal hard and have brought in the talent needed to compete for a Big 12 title in 2024 and beyond.

One of the biggest reasons for excitement is the addition of Arkansas transfer quarterback KJ Jefferson. A three-year starter in Fayetteville, Jefferson left the Razorbacks’ program as its all-time leader in passing touchdowns and yards, tossing for 7,911 yards and 67 touchdowns to just 18 interceptions.

He’s also dangerous with his legs, compiling 1,876 yards and 21 rushing touchdowns over that same period.

UCF will get the 2024 season underway on Thursday, August 29, with a home date against New Hampshire.
