It appears Baker Mayfield’s chances of playing football for Oklahoma this season are over.
The NCAA ruled against a waiver for the walk-on transfer from Texas Tech last week and he recently was denied by the Big 12 as well.
The family remains at odds with Red Raiders coach Kliff Kingsbury, who fought Mayfield’s transfer at every step.
“The driver and the scoundrel behind all this is Kliff,” James Mayfield, Baker’s father, said Monday. “He is so focused or hellbent on punishing Baker.”
