Texas’ offense just hasn’t been the same this season.
Concussions forced quarterback David Ash to give up football, and Dominic Espinosa, a 40-game starter at center, was lost for the season with a broken ankle in the opener. New Longhorns coach Charlie Strong suspended one starting tackle, Desmond Harrison, in early September, and kicked off the other, Kennedy Estelle, not long after.
All that upheaval has had a detrimental effect on the Longhorns’ run game where, amazingly enough to outsiders, big-name backs Malcolm Brown and Johnathan Gray don’t have a 100-yard performance between them this season.
