Kliff Kingsbury Expected to Interview for NFL Offensive Coordinator Job
Kliff Kingsbury is reportedly set to interview for an offensive coordinator position with an NFL team this week after spending the 2023 season as a senior offensive analyst with USC under Lincoln Riley.
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Chicago Bears are expected to bring in Kingsbury to interview for their vacancy at the offensive coordinator position.
The Bears own the first overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft thanks to a trade with the Carolina Panthers last offseason. Now, after Carolina secured the No. 1 overall pick for Chicago with a 2-15 record in 2023, the Bears will have the opportunity to take USC quarterback Caleb Williams.
Despite the Trojans going 7-5 this past season, Williams is being touted as a generation athlete and is very likely to be the first player off the board come April.
With Williams receiving strong consideration with the Bears’ No. 1 pick, bringing in an offensive guru who spent the past season with Williams seems like a no-brainer.
Prior to his time at USC, Kingsbury spent four seasons as the Arizona Cardinals head coach (2019-22) with a 28-37 record and six seasons as the head coach at Texas Tech (2013-18), going 30-45.
