Texas Tech football coach Kliff Kingsbury doesn’t expect the sudden departure of defensive coordinator Matt Wallerstedt to be a distraction.
The reasoning? The Red Raiders have plenty of on-the-field issues to keep them occupied.
“I mean, it’s not like we were playing very well on any side of the ball at that point anyway,” Kingsbury told local media on Monday. “I don’t think it hurt at all. I think our guys did a good job of refocusing. Like I said, we’ve had really good practices (since Wallerstedt’s departure).
