2025 Three-Star LB Kaleb Burns Commits to Texas Tech

NCAA Football: Texas Tech at North Carolina State

On Monday, Joey McGuire and the Texas Tech Red Raiders added a new name to the Class of 2025 with the commitment of three-star linebacker Kaleb Burns.

Burns, a 6-foot linebacker from Texas, chose the Red Raiders over offers from 19 different programs, including Utah, TCU, Tennessee, Arizona, Houston, Baylor, Arkansas, and more.

Coming out of Cy Falls High School in the Class of 2025, Burns is listed as a three-star prospect by the 247Sports index and the nation’s 510th-ranked player. He also checks in as the 54th-ranked player at his position and the 80th-ranked player in the state of Texas.

“The visit was great, one of the best I’ve been on so far,” Burns told Inside Red Raiders’ Jarret Johnson about his visit. “I talked with the whole staff and got a real feel for Lubbock. I’ll say my favorite part was just being out with the players and having fun.”

With his commitment, Burns became the Red Raiders’ 17th addition to the 2025 recruiting class, joining a group headlined by four-star WR Tristian Gentry, four-star QB Lloyd Jones, and four-star WR Bryson Jones. Texas Tech now holds the nation’s 34th-best 2025 recruiting class.
