Former TCU quarterback Trevone Boykin had a funny interaction on social media on Tuesday morning roasting a TCU fan that attempted to compare true freshman Josh Hoover to the Horned Frog legend.

One TCU fan hopped on social media and mentioned that he expects Josh Hoover to have a vintage, “2014 Trevone Boykin-esque performance” when the Horned Frogs take on Texas Tech which prompted a funny response from Boykin.

Boykin responded to the tweet with a hat emoji, and while it has been well-documented at this point what that means, for those who are unaware, “cap” is another way of saying someone is lying.

The game in reference from the fan was the absolute blowout that Boykin and the Horned Frogs gave Texas Tech back in Week 7 of 2014 with a massive 82-27 win. Boykin was Superman against Texas Tech totaling 22 completions for 433 yards and seven passing touchdowns in the massive win.

While there is some optimism for the future of Josh Hoover with the Horned Frogs, TCU fans had a bit of a rude awakening in Week 8 against Kansas State. Hoover followed up his Big 12 Offensive Player of the Week performance by going 23-43 for 187 passing yards and one interception while being shutout 41-3.

Is it possible that Josh Hoover lights it up and turns back the Trevone Boykin clock against Texas Tech? Yes. Will he? More than likely not. Hoover and the Horned Frogs enter the Week 10 matchup on a downhill slide with an overall record of 4-4, and 2-3 in conference play.
