The Big 12 will officially kick off its 2024 season in exactly one week as four of the conference’s 16 teams are scheduled to play on the evening of Thursday, August 29.
UCF, Kansas, Colorado, and Utah – four teams with Big 12 title aspirations – will be the first teams in the league to take the field, but they all hope to be one of the teams playing in Arlington on the first weekend of December.
There can be only two, though, and the winner of that game will have a virtual guarantee as one of the four teams with a bye in the first round of the College Football Playoff – so there’s more on the line now than ever.
On Thursday, CBS Sports’ college football experts shared extensive projections for the 2024 Big 12 season, including their predicted order of finish and who will win a Big 12 title.
Five of the eight experts in the group went with Utah, which is entering the season as the betting favorite to win the crown. Interestingly, all eight experts on the panel chose Utah to make the Big 12 title game, with the other winners being Kansas State (2x) and Oklahoma State (1x).
