We finally have an official diagnosis on Sooner quarterback Trevor Knight’s injury…
…. and with Knight out, it’s up to Cody Thomas who gets his first career start.
As for the Sooners, who go on the road against Texas Tech, both QB’s have practiced this week, but coach Kliff Kingsbury has yet to name a starter.
Meantime, the never ending TCU-Baylor debate continues to get plenty of play, and longtime Dallas sports columnist Randy Galloway gives his take.
As for Saturday, Baylor has a bye week, while TCU also has a bye week … actually they’re playing Kansas. Kind of the same thing, right? Anyway, the Jayhawks certainly have lacked in recruiting in recent seasons, but the 2011 class does have a couple of gems.
The best game of the weekend, at least in terms of point spread, is Oklahoma State vs. Texas. Naturally, the Joe Wickline lawsuit takes center stage.
… Oklahoma State megabooster T. Boone Pickens had a sitdown with the Austin American-Statesman. His support for coach Mike Gundy, was, shall we say, less than enthusiastic.
Elsewhere, West Virginia has a new contract set up with Missouri.
WVU is on their bye, while the Baylor Bears, also on a bye, and are happy to have the rest.
To Ames. Iowa … where it’s a rough going for Paul Rhoads and the football program. The latest? Another decommitment.
