Look: Iowa State Basketball Has Nation’s No. 1 2025 Recruiting Class

NCAA Basketball: Big 12 Basketball Tipoff

While it’s still early in the recruiting process for the Class of 2025, TJ Otzelberger and the Iowa State Cyclones currently hold the nation’s top-ranked group.

The Cyclones have added three impressive players to their class, which gives them the edge over Georgia Tech, Ole Miss, South Carolina, and Providence, who all earned spots in the Top 5.

Iowa State has gotten an early jump on the Class of 2025, landing a total of three big-name prospects. They kicked the class off by adding three-star point guard Mecari Moore, who committed on March 18th. One week later, the team added the services of three-star small forward Xzavion Mitchell, who joined the team on March 23rd.

While both Moore and Mitchell were big recruiting wins for Otzelberger and company, the headlining player in the Cyclones 2025 recruiting class is four-star combo guard Jamarion Batemon.

Batemon, a 6-foot-3 guard from Wisconsin, chose the Cyclones over offers from 12 different programs, including West Virginia, Marquette, Clemson, Illinois, Virginia Tech, Wake Forrest, Mississippi State, and more.

The Wisconsin native currently checks in as a four-star prospect on the 247Sports index as well as the nation’s 52nd-ranked prospect. He also is listed as the ninth-ranked player at his position and the top-ranked player in his state.

While The Cyclones 2025 recruiting class will still have a bit more time prior to their departure date for Ames, what Iowa State has done so far has been nothing short of impressive.
