In a recent interview with Cyclone Fanatic, Iowa State wideout Jayden Higgins detailed his most important goal for the 2024 season: winning a Big 12 Championship.
The junior wide receiver was a massive part of the Cyclones’ success in 2023, and with Iowa State retaining the bulk of their roster in 2024, Higgins will likely be a major factor yet again.
Higgins discussed his breakout season in 2023 and mentioned that faith from the coaching staff was one of the biggest factors in his impressive year.
“I would say I have a lot of confidence in myself, as far as before the season started or after the season, but like I said, it just depended on the coaches believing in me, and I feel like they did a great job of that,” Higgins said. “Biggest goal for 2024 is winning the Big 12 Championship.”
As a junior in 2023, Higgins was one of the team’s top two receivers, bringing in 53 grabs for 983 yards and six touchdowns. He and junior wide receiver Jaylin Noel formed one of the nation’s top pass-catching duos, responsible for more than 1800 yards and 13 scores.
While the Cyclones will have to take down some impressive teams to make Higgins’ goal come true, the team is expected to be a tough out for anyone and everyone to face in the upcoming Big 12 football season.
