Look: Kansas City vs. Miami to be One of the Coldest Games in NFL History
Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs secured the No. 3 seed in the AFC playoff picture this season and will host the Miami Dolphins this Saturday on Wild Card Weekend.
The Chiefs have represented the AFC in three of the last four Super Bowls and have won two of them, including last season’s 38-35 thriller over Jalen Hurts and the Philadelphia Eagles.
This year has been much tougher though, as Kansas City’s offense has struggled to reach the level that we’ve grown used to seeing from them. Meanwhile, Tyreek Hill and the Dolphins will bring the top offense in the league into Arrowhead Stadium and are the only team in the league averaging over 400 yards per game.
However, the conditions that the Dolphins find on Saturday could play a role in the game, especially considering they’re used to the tropical climate in Miami, Florida.
According to Colin McCarthy of US Stormwatch, Saturday night’s game in Kansas City is set to be one of the coldest games in NFL history, with wind chills dipping well below 0 degrees.
Homefield advantage is a real thing, especially in the NFL, but with the weather forecast added in, it’s hard not to like the Chiefs in this game, especially since their opponent is quite literally the last team in the league who I think of when it comes to playing in the snow.
The Chiefs and Dolphins are set to kick off at 7:00 p.m. CT in a “Peacock AFC Wild Card Exclusive,” the first-ever NFL playoff game that will be behind a paywall. Fans around the country will have to subscribe to NBC streaming service Peacock in order to catch the game.
