Look: Iowa State Puts Brock Purdy Ads in San Francisco Chronicle

NFL: NFC Divisional Round-Dallas Cowboys at San Francisco 49ers

Iowa State football is coming off a 7-6 season and a disappointing loss to Memphis in the AutoZone Liberty Bowl, but the year was incredibly promising considering how young the Cyclones are and what was expected of them.

Rocco Becht looks like the future in Ames, and he’s got some pretty high standards to live up to considering what Brock Purdy has done in San Francisco this season.

If you’ve been living under a rock, the former Cyclone is having arguably the best season of any quarterback in the league not named Lamar Jackson.

In his second season in the NFL, Purdy leads the league with a 72.8 QBR while passing for 4,280 yards for 31 touchdowns with 11 interceptions. Up until his four interception performance in a 33-19 loss to Jackson and the Ravens two weeks ago, Purdy was the frontrunner to win the MVP.

Purdy is one of the best stories in the NFL, and Iowa State wanted to make sure and let him know that everyone in Ames is certainly pulling for Mr. Irrelevant turned superstar.

In Monday morning’s edition of the San Francisco Chronicle, the Cyclones bought two full-page ads to celebrate all that Purdy has accomplished in 2023.

As the ad reads, Purdy’s been “Purdy, Purdy, Purdy good,” and he’s got the 49ers with the No. 1 seed in the NFC Playoff picture.
