Colorado Lands 1000-Yard Receiver LaJohntay Wester in Transfer Portal

Deion Sanders and the Colorado Buffaloes brought a new player to Boulder ahead of the 2024 season with the addition of former FAU wide receiver LaJohntay Wester through the transfer portal.
Wester, a former three-star prospect from Florida, spent the previous four seasons with the Owls before electing to enter the transfer portal with one year of eligibility remaining.
Wester had a stellar 2023 season at FAU where he finished as the nation’s 14th-ranked receiver in terms of receiving yards with 1,168. Through four years in Boca Raton, Wester totaled 252 grabs for 2,703 yards and 21 scores. He also added 36 carries for 213 yards and two scores on the ground through four years of college football.
Coming out of high school, Wester was unranked by most major recruiting services, but after four years of production at FAU, Wester worked his way into a three-star transfer prospect by the 247Sports index. He was also listed as the 189th-ranked player in the transfer portal as well as the 35th-ranked receiver available.
Wester became the Buffaloes’ 20th addition through the transfer portal this offseason joining Cincinnati’s Chamon Metayer, Vanderbilt’s Will Sheppard, Pittsburgh’s Samuel Okunlola, and more.
While the college football season is still the better part of eight months away, Colorado kicks off their 2024 season on Saturday, August 31st against the North Dakota State Bison.
