It’s the time of year when bettors around the country try to place bets that will make them legends in their own minds after the season. And a bettor at BetMGM has made a $10,000 wager on the Colorado Buffaloes to win the Big 12 Conference, according to John Ewing, PR employee with BetMGM.
The Colorado Buffaloes have actually had more preseason action come in on them, as the odds have been shrinking.
Earlier this offseason, Colorado was +4000 to win the Big 12. And just last month, Colorado was +3000 to win the league.
But, with the latest big bet coming in at +2500, that would suggest that there is more money coming in on CU ahead of the 2024 season. It’s no surprise that Deion Sanders‘ team is getting a lot of action, but when one actually analyzes the conference, it’s hard to justify picking Colorado, and even thinking there is value in the Buffaloes.
In fact, Colorado is becoming a sucker’s bet for those who likely want a reason to watch Colorado games and cheer for Deion Sanders.
