When Baylor left McLane Stadium a month ago, it was the No. 10 team in the Associated Press poll.
After winning three straight road games and watching numerous other top teams fall, the Bears return home Saturday as the country’s No. 5 team. They’re even higher in the USA Today coaches poll at No. 3.
When the dust cleared Saturday night, a record five of the top eight teams in the AP poll lost. It all started Thursday night when Arizona upset No. 2 Oregon. The dominoes continued to fall Saturday when No. 3 Alabama, No. 4 Oklahoma, No. 6 Texas A&M and No. 8 UCLA all went down.
