Burned early by fade routes, Bears, CB Reid recover to laugh last

Cornerbacks often talk about the importance of having short-term memory loss on the field, a kind of temporary amnesia. If you mess up — and sometimes even if you don’t — you’ve got to erase it from your memory bank and move on to the next play.

Ryan Reid’s forgetfulness ended up serving him well last Saturday.

TCU victimized Baylor’s third-year sophomore several times early in the game, targeting the rookie starter with a barrage of of fade passes. It didn’t work out so well for Reid and the Bears, as he was burned on a touchdown and on a pass-interference penalty that set up another score.
