Earlier this season, that’s where Baylor’s Chris Callahan found himself. Though he scored the first points in McLane Stadium history, he struggled overall, starting out just 1-of-6.
He didn’t sense a confidence problem. If anything, he was more aggravated than anything. These were kicks he’d made his whole life. He was drilling them in practice. Perhaps a flaw in his technique was what had caused things to go wonky.
A session with his personal kicking coach revealed the problem.
