After seemingly playing himself out of the Heisman Trophy conversation, Petty answered critics with a brilliant performance to lead the Bears to their first win ever over Oklahoma in Norman after 11 straight losses.
Petty rediscovered his accuracy in a big way as he hit 32 of 42 passes for 387 yards and to lead the No. 10 Bears to a 48–14 blowout of the No. 16 Sooners on Saturday afternoon at Gaylord Family Oklahoma Memorial Stadium.
