KD Cannon knew all about Baylor’s reputation as Wide Receiver U.
That’s a big reason why he turned down offers from Oklahoma, Texas Tech and Texas A&M to sign with Baylor out of Mount Pleasant High School.
He’s seen how Kendall Wright, Terrance Williams and Josh Gordon have torn up the NFL with their pass catching skills. But as good as those receivers were at Baylor, none of them made the impact that Cannon has made in his first three college games.
Cannon’s numbers are incomprehensible for a fifth-year senior, let alone a freshman just getting his feet wet. With 14 catches for 471 yards and five touchdowns, he’s already been added to the Biletnikoff Award list that honors the nation’s top receiver.
