While it’s no secret that the Big 12 Conference features some of the nation’s premier playmakers at the quarterback position, ESPN’s Greg McElroy confirmed that fact on Friday with a quarterbacks ranking list.
Four Big 12 signal callers were listed inside the Top 10, including Colorado‘s Shedeur Sanders, Utah‘s Cam Rising, Arizona‘s Noah Fifita, and Kansas‘ Jalon Daniels.
Sanders was the highest-ranking Big 12 quarterback, earning the No. 3 spot on McElroy’s list, followed by Cam Rising at No. 6, Noah Fifita at No. 8, and Jalon Daniels at No. 10.
Three of the four Top 10 choices are newcomers to the Big 12, as Colorado, Utah and Arizona are set to join the Big 12 Conference this summer, following their Pac-12 departure.
One stipulation of McElroy’s list was that each featured quarterback had to have played meaningful minutes to earn a place on the list. McElroy hopped on the Always College Football Podcast to discuss his rankings and showed tremendous love to the Big 12 Conference.
The four quarterbacks mentioned in McElroy’s list are a few of the big names to watch for, showing the incredible depth at the quarterback position in the Big 12. The league features an impressive cast of passers in addition to those mentioned by Greg McElroy, including Avery Johnson, Rocco Becht, Garrett Greene, Behren Morton, KJ Jefferson, and many more.
While the 2024 season is still more than two months away, lists like Greg McElroy’s are a great way to pass the time until the first game kicks off in the Big 12 Conference.
