It’s been a long seven months for college football fans, but the offseason is finally starting to wind down as fall camp is gearing up and the 2024 season begins to creep ever closer. In less than three weeks, we will have real, live college football to watch, and we will finally be able to talk about real college football.
Today, another sign of the impending season was the release of the US LBM Coaches Poll, which precedes the AP Top 25 Poll by one week (Monday, August 12).
Utah, who checks in at No. 13, is the highest-rated Big 12 team of the bunch in this poll, coming in four spots ahead of Kansas State (No. 17) and five spots ahead of Oklahoma State (No. 18) in the initial poll.
The Utes, led by super-senior quarterback Cam Rising, are expected to be the team to beat in the Big 12, but they’ll have a tough time navigating a league that has 10 teams that were either ranked or received votes in this poll.
Arizona checks in at No. 21 after a 10-3 season a year ago, while Kansas, who went 9-4, comes in at No. 24 after finishing last year ranked 25th in the AP Top 25.
