Jordy Nelson Responds to K-State Retro Helmets
Kansas State is set to host the Tulane Green Wave on Saturday in what will be the second-ever meeting between the programs.
The last time that these teams met was in 1988, and to honor that look, Kansas State unveiled their throwback helmets for Saturday’s game. You can read the full story here.
K-State was in the midst of some of the worst football played in program history. After Tulane beat the Wildcats 20-16, they continued on to go 0-11 that year. After an abysmal final year for Stan Parrish, K-State then hired a 49-year-old Iowa offensive coordinator who would go on to redefine what it meant to be a Wildcat. That coach was Bill Snyder.

With the look blowing up on Twitter, one former Wildcat decided to chime in with his thoughts on the look, even asking to suit up against Tulane.
As a Wildcat in the ring of honor, Jordy Nelson helped to shape K-State football and turn Bill Snyder Family Stadium into one of the best environments in the Big 12. I think it’s only right that Jordy gets to suit up on Saturday, although someone might have to let Gavin Forsha know Jordy needs his number back.
