With multiple teams in the Big 12 Conference capable of hoisting the Big 12 Championship trophy in the upcoming season, many experts worldwide have begun to make their picks for Arlington.

The most recent college football expert to voice their opinion was the Late Kick’s Josh Pate, who placed his pick for the conference title game to be held between Iowa State and Oklahoma State.

“In the Big 12, I had seven different matchup combinations in one hour to play for the Big 12 Championship Game,” Pate said. “Nine teams in this conference right now, according to FanDuel, have +1600 or better odds to win it. So, to say the least, I could be talked off of this. But at the same time, I want to very counterintuitively say I’m steadfast in this prediction.”

“Oklahoma State versus Iowa State in the Big 12 Championship Game,” Pate continued. “As my own production team scoffs in my ear, in a few months, I’ll be accepting multiple apologies in this building.”

Oklahoma State was picked to finish third behind Utah and Kansas State in the recent preseason media poll, which Pate mentioned due to Iowa State taking down both of the league’s top two teams en route to Arlington.

Pate finished his thoughts by making his pick for Big 12 Champion, saying, “Oklahoma State, though, is actually the team I would take to win it. I think Oklahoma State profiles pretty well in that kind of setting.”

Oklahoma State and Iowa State are both inside of the top three in the nation’s returning production teams and with both teams finding success in 2023, 2024 could be the year of an old Big Eight rivalry in the title game.
