Steve Lutz and the Oklahoma State Cowboys continue to round out their basketball roster for the 2024-25 season with the commitment of St. Mary’s transfer guard Tyler Caron.
Caron, a 6-foot-9 nine forward from Texas, spent the last four seasons at St. Mary’s and proved to be an impressive player at the Division 2 ranks.
Over four seasons at St. Mary’s, Caron posted career stats of 12.1 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 1.2 assists per game. During his 89 career games, the Texas native proved to be an impressive scorer in the league, with more than 1,000 points scored.
Coming out of High School in the Class of 2019, Caron was unranked as a prospect, but during his time at Spring Hill High School in Longview, Texas, the forward averaged 19.4 points per game on 51.8% shooting from the field and connected on 80.4% of shots from the free throw line.
With his commitment, Caron joins seven other future Cowboys heading to Stillwater through the transfer portal, including Purdue’s Brandon Newman, UCF’s Marchelus Avery, Texas Tech’s Robert Jennings, Xavier’s Abou Ousmane, La Salle’s Khalil Brantley, Arkansas’ Davonte Davis, and FIU’s Arturo Dean.
