2025 Five-Star G Jasper Johnson Considering Visit to Baylor

NCAA Basketball: Texas at Baylor

Five-star Class of 2025 guard Jasper Johnson’s recruiting trail is heating up, and the Baylor Bears are expected to be in the mix for the star prospect.

The 6-foot-5 guard is planning to take an official visit to BU, as well as Arkansas, per Joe Tipton.

This summer, Johnson played for Team USA’s U18 team that won a gold medal, as he averaged 10 points and 2.7 assists per game. The point guard also showcased his ability to knock down the three at a high rate, shooting a team-best 42.3%.

Bill Armstrong, the former head coach of Link Academy, was hired as an assistant coach under Scott Drew, so Johnson already has ties to Baylor.

Regarding his thoughts on BU, Johnson mentioned, “Coach Bill (Armstrong) going there from Link [Academy], me and him are pretty close. He’s still contacting me and reaching out to me, and I think he’ll come to my games.,” via Zagsblog.

While Johnson has not set a commitment date, Tipton reported that the five-star prospect may make his college decision after the Peach Jam tournament.

The Bears are coming off a third-place finish in the Big 12 as the team put together a 24-11 record. Drew led the team to the second round of the NCAA Tournament before falling to the Clemson Tigers.
