The Arizona State men’s basketball team settled an agreement to play the Florida Gators on Dec. 14 at State Farm Center in Atlanta, Georgia, per Jon Rothstein.
This will be the third time ever that these two schools face off, with the Gators leading the all-time series 2-0. Florida defeated Arizona State in its last matchup in 2008 with a final score of 70-57 in the NIT quarterfinal round.
Arizona State is UF’s sixth non-conference game of the 2024-25 college basketball season.
Last season, the Sun Devils struggled under head coach Bobby Hurley with an overall record of 14-18. Despite the team’s poor record, ASU still managed to pick up impressive wins over Utah, Colorado, USC, and No. 21 Washington State.
Hurley has put together a strong 2024 recruiting class including five-star center Jayden Quaintance, four-star guard Joson Sanon, along with three-star prospects Bo Aldridge and Keitenn Bristow.
On the other hand, the Gators are coming off a strong 2023-24 campaign, finishing sixth in the SEC with a 24-12 record that included wins over No. 10 Kentucky, No. 12 Auburn, as well as No. 16 Alabama. Florida made it to the NCAA Tournament before falling to Colorado in the first round.
