Shilo Sanders Defends Himself for Recruiting Transfers on Social Media
Colorado safety Shilo Sanders defended his viral social media post on Tuesday, a post in which Sanders requested defensive transfers to reach out to him and offensive transfers reach out to his brother, Shedeur Sanders.
Sanders spoke to members of the media about the post and mentioned that he wants to help build the best team to attract more NFL attention to Colorado’s program.
“I don’t know,” Sanders said. “The day I posted is the first day the portal opened. Me, as a player, y’all gotta know how I think. The more games we win, the easier it is to get looks and to get drafted, and I want the best opportunity to win, which ends up, you know, getting drafted earlier. So, I’m going to do all I can to beef up the team.”
Shilo and Shedeur Sanders were two of the Buffaloes’ biggest contributors last season on either side of the ball, with Shedeur leading the offense and Shilo leading the defense. Shilo Sanders finished his 2023 season off as the team’s second-leading tackler with 67 total stops while adding four forced fumbles, one interception, and three pass breakups.
Despite suffering a disappointing season in 2023 in the final season of Pac-12 football, Sanders and the Buffaloes will have the opportunity to start fresh with a clean slate as members of the Big 12 Conference.
“We’ve got a good team right now,” Sanders said. “I just want to make it easier for other guys to feel like, ‘Alright. If I want to go to Colorado, it’s not hard.’ Because my dad said he ain’t hard to find. We ain’t hard to find either.’
Colorado kicks off its first season since 2010 as a member of the Big 12 Conference on Thursday, August 29th, against the North Dakota State Bison.
