Watch: Cooper Beebe Says His Mom Helped Him Practice Shotgun Snaps

NCAA Football: Kansas State at Texas Tech

Despite not playing center for Kansas State during his decorated career, former K-State offensive lineman Cooper Beebe was drafted by the Dallas Cowboys to play center.

Understandably, the adjustment comes with some uncertainty. In a recent interview with 105.3 The Fan, Beebe mentioned that he practiced shotgun snaps this offseason with his mom acting as starting quarterback.

The conversation started with the hosts asking Beebe how many snaps he’d thrown to his brothers and Dad this offseason ahead of Cowboys camp, which prompted an incredible response from the former Wildcat.

“Actually, my mom was the QB for me,” Beebe said. “She stepped in every time during her lunch break; we’re out in the backyard, she’s getting the ‘Here we go’ [cadence], she had to get used to that. She’d hit me with a knee for the silent count. So I’ve gotta give a shoutout to my mom on that one.”

Beebe was one of the most decorated players in Kansas State football history. In 2023, he earned unanimous All-American honors and was named a finalist for the Outland Trophy, which is awarded to the nation’s best lineman. His college resume helped him earn a third-round selection as a member of the Cowboys, and he will now have the opportunity to team up with his former teammate at Kansas State, running back Deuce Vaughn.
