Five things Texas fans need to know about UCLA

The Longhorns were blown out by BYU yet again last week, and another blowout loss might put Charlie Strong on the hot seat before he’s even had a chance to sit down.

Texas hosts No. 12 UCLA at AT&T Stadium in Arlington at 7:00 p.m. Saturday, their first non-conference matchup against a top-25 team since  getting squashed by Ole Miss a year ago.

Here’s a quick scouting report of the Bruins:

Record: 2-0

Last: Beat Memphis, 42-35

Offense: Spread

Defense: 3-4

1. They’ve got a guy who plays both ways, and he’s darn good at it. If you don’t know who Myles Jack is yet, you’ll quickly find out on Saturday. The 6’1″, 232 pound sophomore is listed as a linebacker, but also takes the field as a running back in the Bruin offense. And Jack isn’t just out there filling space, the Washington native was named offensive AND defensive freshman of the year in the Pac-12 last season. He’s explosive on both sides of the ball, so expect to hear his name a lot on Saturday.
