Watch: Patrick Mahomes and Xavier Worthy Connect on a Deep Touchdown

The latest Big 12 pass-catching duo to hit the NFL ranks resides in Kansas City between Texas Tech‘s Patrick Mahomes and Texas‘ Xavier Worthy.

On Sunday, Mahomes and Worthy connected for a monster touchdown at training camp in St. Joseph that sent the crowd into a frenzy.

Worthy, a 5-foot-11 speedster from California, broke the 40-yard dash record at the NFL Scouting Combine with a time of 4.21. The record was set by Washington’s John Ross in 2017, who broke the long-standing record of Chris Johnson with a 4.22 time.

His incredible speed, paired with some outstanding college numbers, helped the Longhorns wideout earn a first-round draft selection in Kansas City with the 28th overall pick. As a junior in 2023, Worthy hauled in 75 grabs for 1,014 yards and five touchdowns.

Worthy joins an impressive cast of Big 12 athletes in Kansas City, including notable names like Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce, Marquise Brown, Creed Humphrey, Kingsley Suamataia, Felix Anudike-Uzomah, and more.
