Oklahoma sophomore cornerback Zack Sanchez said after Tuesday’s practice that his injured shoulder is getting better by the day, and that he will be ready to play Saturday against Tennessee.
Sanchez injured the shoulder during last weekend’s 52-7 rout of Tulsa. He, OU safety Quentin Hayes and Tulsa wideout Keevan Lucas collided on Lucas’ catch early in the second quarter.
The sophomore left the game and didn’t return. X-rays taken Saturday came back negative, and Sanchez has been able to practice this week.
“I got a helmet right to the top of my shoulder, where the most padding is on my shoulder pad,” Sanchez said Tuesday. “It’s kind of a freak thing. I got a little sprain in my shoulder. Nothing serious, nothing major at all.”
