Bob Stoops and his coaching staff will be plenty busy this weekend.
They’re not just preparing for Tennessee, but also one of the biggest recruiting weekends in Stoops’ tenure.
Six players in the Rivals 250 ranking of the nation’s top recruits for 2015 are expected to make official visits to Norman for Saturday’s game. Several others will take unofficials, as will a group of 2016 players who include a pair of quarterbacks the Sooners have offered.
Stoops better stock up on Red Bull.
“I rev myself up Friday morning and tell myself I’ve got 48 hours of going,” Stoops said of busy recruiting weekends. “That’s it. And then Sunday I’m pretty tired.”
The last time the Sooners had a recruiting weekend that rivaled this weekend, there wasn’t a game to showcase.
