Mike Gundy Comments on Bedlam Future After Beating Oklahoma

NCAA Football: Oklahoma State at Iowa State

Mike Gundy and the Oklahoma State Cowboys won the final regular season meeting between the Cowboys and Oklahoma Sooners on Saturday night in a thriller from Stillwater. And with Oklahoma heading to the SEC next season, Gundy has been adamant about this being the final meeting between the two teams.

When Mike Gundy was asked about that again following the win on Saturday night, he said, “It won’t happen again in the regular season.” Gundy added that Bedlam would be a great bowl match up in the future and that he would look forward to playing it.

Of course, the stars would have to align to make that happen, and that game would not be played in either Stillwater or Norman, so it’s not the same as it has been for over 100 years anyway.

But for now, it’s the Cowboys who will have bragging rights for the foreseeable future as they beat the Sooners on Saturday afternoon in a game that went back-and-forth and ultimately saw the Pokes come out on top.

And in full-blown Bedlam fashion, everyone from the players to the coaches to those running the PA system got in on the action after the upset. Here’s video of Taylor Swift’s, “We are Never Getting Back Together” blasting through Boone Pickens Stadium following the victory.

It’s sad this rivalry is coming to an end, but remember, if there’s a reason it’s ending, it’s Oklahoma. Not Oklahoma State.
