Former West Virginia Forward Pat Suemnick Reopens Recruitment

After previously committing to play his final season of college basketball with DePaul, former WVU forward Pat Suemnick has reopened his commitment, per his Twitter account.

The 6-foot-8 power forward averaged 4.1 points and 2.6 rebounds while shooting 53.9% from the field for the Mountaineers last season.

Suemnick led West Virginia to an upset win over No. 3 Kansas. He scored a career-high 20 points, snapping KU’s six-game losing streak.

 

Following the departure of interim head coach Josh Eilert, Suemnick entered the transfer portal on April 10. WVU finished the 2023-24 season in last place in the Big 12 with an overall record of 9-23.

The Green Bay, Wi. native played his freshman season at Robert Morris before spending the last two years in Morgantown and as a sophomore, he saw action in 21 games and totaled 29 points.

After seeing limited playing time in his first two seasons, Suemnick started six games this past season for the Mountaineers and scored 16 points to lead the team to an upset win over the Texas Longhorns.

DePaul finished 2023-24 with a record of 3-29 and had only two players average double-digit points with Chico Carter Jr. (10.9 PPG) and Elijah Fisher (10.2 PPG).
