Four Big 12 Teams Listed with Top 25 Recruiting Classes in 2025
While the Big 12 Conference is losing two programs with an impressive ability to recruit to the SEC, several other programs in the Big 12 are picking up for the loss of Texas and Oklahoma.
Four teams from the Big 12 Conference were featured in a recent list from 247Sports, which ranked the Top 25 recruiting classes for the 2025 season.
The Texas Tech Red Raiders, Baylor Bears, UCF Knights, and TCU Horned Frogs all made the Top 25, with the Red Raiders earning the league’s highest-ranked spot at No. 9.
Texas Tech has already earned commitments from 10 prospects in the Class of 2025, including four-star wideout Tristian Gentry and nine other three-star prospects.
Of the four Big 12 teams included in the Top 25, Gus Malzahn and the UCF Knights have landed the top-ranked incoming freshman with the commitment of four-star athlete Kendarius Reddick. Reddick is one of three four-stars committed to UCF, joining running back Taevion Swint and safety Tony Williams.
When Brett Yormark voiced his opinion against the notion of Texas and Oklahoma “carrying recruitment in the Big 12 Conference” at Big 12 Media Days, the statement became one of the many things that Yormark has been spot-on about since accepting the title of commissioner.
