Anonymous NBA GM: ‘This is an Absolutely Awful Draft’
While the NBA Draft is usually filled with players capable of drastically improving a team’s upside in Year One with the team, according to an anonymous NBA general manager, the 2024 NBD Draft class is different.
The Field of 68’s Jeff Goodman revealed a text that he received from an anonymous GM that trashed the players in the upcoming draft and mentioned, “This is an absolutely awful draft.”
“This is an absolutely awful draft,” the source said. “There’s no guy that projects as a franchise player, no one that even stands out as the No. 1 pick. This is the type of draft that gets someone fired if they get the No. 1 pick.”
While the 2024 NBA Draft class is significantly lighter than normal, BetOnline Sportsbook showed some love to one impressive prospect from the Big 12 Conference. The group released some updated odds for the No. 1 overall pick and listed Baylor’s Ja’Kobe Walter as the only Big 12 player in the projected Top 10.
Players with the Top 10 best odds are listed below.
Alexandre Sarr (Perth Wildcats) | 1/3 | (-300) |
Zaccharie Risacher (JL Bourg) | 2/1 | (+200) |
Reed Sheppard (Kentucky) | 7/1 | (+700) |
