Big 12 Football Picks: Week 13
The Big 12 football season is here, which means it’s time for our BIG 12 football picks against the spread. Our picks went 1-1 against the spread last week, and we are still 25-17 on the season, so let’s go!

Kansas State vs. Texas
The Kansas State Wildcats have lost four in a row, but Texas is coming off a loss to Iowa State and three players have opted out of the rest of the season since then. K-State is the young, hungry team looking to snap its skid and can do it against the blueblood Longhorns. Also, K-State is still 6-2 against the spread in Big 12 play, while Texas has been awful against K-State against the spread. Texas is 0-8 against the spread in their last eight road games against K-State and 3-13 ATS in their last 16 meetings vs. the Wildcats. Give me K-State to get the cover against the unmotivated Longhorns with a coach who might have one foot out the door.
The Pick: Kansas State +7
TCU vs. Oklahoma State
People seem to forget that Oklahoma State is still in the Big 12 race. Sure, it’s not likely, but it’s possible, if OU drops another game. TCU got a nice win against Kansas, but it’s Kansas. Everyone blows them out and looks good against them. TCU has struggled to protect it’s quarterback giving up the seventh-most sacks in the Big 12 this season, going up against Oklahoma State’s defense that will look to bounce back this week and ranks second in sacks in the conference. I am very surprised by this line, and maybe I’m a sucker, but give me the Pokes.
The Pick: Oklahoma State -1
Texas Tech vs. Kansas
Matt Wells won’t be on the sidelines since he tested positive for COVID-19. But still, Kansas hasn’t covered a spread yet this season. I bet on them once this season and lost. I’m not making that mistake again, until I get proven wrong. Yes, this number doesn’t inspire confidence. It’s huge and Tech hasn’t earned it. But Kansas has been that bad… and it stands until proven otherwise.
The Pick: Texas Tech -27
Iowa State vs. West Virginia
These two teams are very similar, the difference is Iowa State’s offense is far superior to West Virginia’s. I don’t think Matt Campbell will allow a letdown game on Senior Day, but WVU will hang in this thing because defense travels. These two teams are No. 1 and No. 2 in points allowed in the Big 12 Conference this season, and they’re both in the top 3 in time of possession. The Mountaineers are also fresh after their OU game was postponed due to COVID. If you need to, buy the 1/2 a point.
The Pick: West Virginia +7
Oklahoma vs. Baylor
We don’t even know what coaches will be on the sidelines or what players will miss Saturday’s game for the Sooners due to their COVID-19 issues. And while the Sooners are 5-0 against the spread in their last five games, I’m going to bet that Baylor can keep it within this number because we’ve seen how COVID can impact how teams practice in the week leading up to games and who ultimately plays. Also, 69% of the money is coming in on the Sooners, but the line hasn’t moved, implying the big money is on Baylor.
The Pick: Baylor +21.5
