Our Week 12 picks went 4-1, so we are 29-30-1 on the season, and now it’s on to Week 13 with five games to pick.

Texas vs. Kansas State

The Longhorns head into this game having lost six in a row and there appear to be plenty of locker room issues as well. Steve Sarkisian can’t wait to hit the reset button and get to the offseason. Meantime, we know K-State would love to send Texas out with a seven-game losing streak. The Wildcats prefer to run the ball and they’re going up against a team that’s ranked 8th in the Big 12 in rushing defense and giving up over 200 rushing yards per game. Oh, and K-State has done great at covering against Texas, historically. The Cats 13-4 ATS in their last 17 games against Texas.

The Pick: Kansas State +3

TCU vs. Iowa State

The Horned Frogs are limping down the stretch of the season, but then again, Iowa State hasn’t exactly lived up to expectations this season either. The Cyclones are 1-4 against the spread in their last five games this season and despite the 6-5 overall record, ISU is still getting a lot of love from oddsmakers. While TCU is missing several players, including RB Zach Evans, TCU’s running game has depth and they’re more than capable of keep this game on the ground and keeping it within the margin. Also, TCU is playing for bowl eligibility.

The Pick: TCU +15

Baylor vs. Texas Tech

Baylor heads into this one with hopes of reaching the Big 12 Championship Game and they’ve been a cover machine this season going 8-3 against the spread, including a 6-0 mark against the spread in their last six home games. BU comes in with the top rushing offense in the Big 12, while getting to go up against one of the worst rushing defenses in the league. Tech has its bowl game coming already after its upset of Iowa State two weeks ago, plus their offense now goes up against one of the best defenses in the league, and we saw how that went last week against Oklahoma State.

The Pick: Baylor -14

Kansas vs. West Virginia

I’ve been hot on the Jayhawks the last few weeks to cover the spread and it’s worked out more often than not, but now they’re getting love from Vegas, and it feels like too much. WVU’s offense has struggled running the ball and protecting the quarterback, but the Mountaineers go up against a Kansas team ranked last in rushing defense and sacks. Combine that with this spread being one of the lowest KU has had in a while, and I’ll roll with the Mountaineers on the road as they need this win to become bowl eligible.

The Pick: West Virginia -15

Oklahoma State vs. Oklahoma

Bedlam is here. Oklahoma State has been a cover machine this year at 9-0 in their last nine games, while OU is just 5-6 against the spread this season. OU hasn’t quite been able to figure out this season on either side of the ball. But what will give OSU the cover in this game is the fact that they are the best team in the Big 12 at getting to the quarterback, with 43 sacks, 13 more than any other team in the conference, while Oklahoma has given up the second-most sacks in the league. OSU will get this done on Saturday night in Stillwater and cover the spread.

The Pick: Oklahoma State -4
