Let’s roll through the matchups in each round and see what the Championship Game will look like on Saturday evening.

Texas Tech overcame a 6-0 deficit to take down Iowa State in extra innings on Wednesday night. The Red Raiders will now face No. 1 Texas in the quarterfinals on Thursday.

Game 3: No. 3 Oklahoma State vs. No. 6 BYU – 11 a.m. CT

BYU rode an incredible performance from Chloe Temples and an upstart offense to pull off a stunning upset over Oklahoma State to advance to the Big 12 Softball Tournament semifinals.

Game 4: No. 2 Oklahoma vs. Kansas – 1:30 p.m. CT

Oklahoma’s offense exploded for 10 hits and was 10-of-20 (.500) at the plate on the afternoon as the Sooners rolled past Kansas to advance to the Big 12 Softball Tournament semifinals against BYU.

RECAP: Oklahoma 10, Kansas 1 (F/5)

Game 5: No. 1 Texas vs. Texas Tech – 5 p.m. CT

Texas outscored the Red Raiders 50-7 in their season-ending series, and that domination continued on Thursday with a 13 runs on 11 hits to advance to Friday’s semifinals, where they’ll face the winner of Baylor vs. UCF.

RECAP: Texas 13, Texas Tech 4

Game 6 – No. 4 Baylor vs. No. 5 UCF – 7:30 p.m. CT

These two teams played in Waco just a couple of weeks ago and Baylor managed to pull off a sweep despite scoring just four runs total in the series. Give me the Bears, who’ve won nine of 10 heading into this weekend.

Semifinals: Friday, May 10

Game 7 – BYU vs. Oklahoma – 5 p.m. CT

Oklahoma left no doubt with a dominant 13-2 run-rule victory over BYU to reach the Big 12 Championship Game on Saturday night.

RECAP: Oklahoma 13, BYU 2 (F/5)

Game 8: Texas vs. Baylor – 7:30 p.m. CT

Like Oklahoma, Texas thoroughly dominated their opponent on Friday night to advance to the Big 12 Championship Game, throttling Baylor 14-3 (F/5).

RECAP: Texas 14, Baylor 3 (F/5)

Championship: Saturday, May 11

Game 9: Oklahoma vs. Texas – 6:30 p.m. CT

Talk about Women’s College World Series vibes. Texas, Oklahoma, and Oklahoma State are all very likely to end up back in Oklahoma City in June for the WCWS, and this game is going to feel like a precursor to that event. The last team to beat Texas was Oklahoma, and ever since that series in Austin (Tex.), Texas has looked like the team to beat.

After Sunday’s win over the Cowgirls, Oklahoma appeared to round a corner that they’d been stuck on since dropped the series to Texas earlier in the year. Now, it comes full circle as the Sooners get back to playing like themselves and take down the Longhorns in a heavyweight bout that comes down to the final at-bat.
