Eight Big 12 Teams in Latest D1Baseball Field of 64 Projections
The College World Series is still several weeks away, but the final weekend of the 2024 regular season for college baseball is upon us, which means it’s high time for some projections.
D1Baseball recently released a projected field of 64 teams to make the NCAA Baseball Tournament, and eight of the Big 12’s 13 programs are currently above the cut line.
Oklahoma, who just locked up its first-ever regular season Big 12 Championship, checks in as the highest-seeded team from the conference at No. 10 nationally. The Sooners are joined by in-state rival Oklahoma State–at No. 16–as the only two Big 12 teams to host a regional.
Texas checks in as the two-seed in Texas A&M’s regional, while West Virginia is the two-seed at No. 2 Tennessee. Cincinnati, Kansas State, TCU, and UCF all check in as three seeds in this week’s projections.
The Bearcats are projected to land in Lexington, hosted by No. 1 overall seed Kentucky. K-State would head to No. 3 Arkansas for the postseason, with TCU going to No. 13 Oregon State, and UCF headed north to the Athens Region, hosted by No. 7 Georgia.
Here’s a look at how each Big 12 team’s region would look if the brackets were to hold from here on out, courtesy of D1Baseball.
