With the 2024 NBA Draft just under three weeks away, ESPN released its latest NBA Mock Draft.
Experts predict former Baylor Bears guard Ja’Kobe Walter to get selected with the No. 13 overall pick to the Sacramento Kings.
Walter entered the draft after playing his freshman season in Waco, with season averages of 14.5 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 1.4 assists.
The one-and-done prospect is one of the best three-point shooters in the draft, as he sank in 75 threes last season. Not only does he have a well-rounded offensive game, but he can defend the perimeter effectively.
He averaged 1.1 steals per game last season for the Bears and the Big 12 Freshman of the Year scored 10 or more points in 26 games last season, leading the team to a 24-11 record.
The 6-foot-4 guard is more than just a shooter since he can shoot off-the-dribble and get to the rim. He shot 79.2% from the line last season.
With Walter projected to be a first-round pick, Baylor is one pace for its fourth-straight season having a player selected in the first-round. Davion Mitchell was selected No. 9 overall to the Sacramento Kings in 2021, Jeremy Sochan was taken No. 9 to the San Antonio Spurs in 2022, and Keyonte George went to the Utah Jazz with the 16th pick in 2023.
